R-Tech meet Robo Challenge (again)
In December, R-Tech team members Mike & Graham were given the opportunity to visit the television production set of Richard Hammond's Crazy Contraptions which will air on Channel 4. R-Tech were delighted to be asked to supply welding and plasma cutting equipment for the contestants and studio engineers to utilise in the show.
Our chaps were invited by Grant & his father Nick from Robo Challenge, they were lucky enough to have been given a tour of the set and introduced to the presenters, Richard Hammond & Zach Umperovitch, and they were also able to watch as the episode was filmed! To say the rest of the team here were jealous is about right, and it was a fantastic chance to see behind the scenes of this kind of thing.
Richard Hammond's Crazy Contraptions
When is it on? The show will air on Friday 29th April 2022 on Channel 4 at 8pm.
What is it all about? A seven part series where teams of amateur engineers will try to build the most bonkers and complicated chain reaction mechanisms to cater to Richard's every urge. The competitors must find ways to make mechanisms that answer life's big questions... such as "what is stopping me from feeding my dog whilst relaxing in the garden?". Be prepared to see some conquests and most definitely some calamities.

Our guys came back from their day out at the studio and they had all sorts of questions fired at them from the rest of us as to what they had seen, however being the good guys that they are, they stuck to the Top Secret agreement that they had to sign on the day! So, we will be tuning in on Friday to see what it is that Mike & Graham have spent the last few months whispering about and we recommend that you do the same! Let us know if you spot a cheeky MIG180 or P30C!
