Bought this cutter based on DOUBLEBOOST. no nonsense recommendations Bought it to cut chassis components for a project. The cutter performs well under test, am well pleased, struggles a bit at the thick end. Ideal for a small workshop where thick metal can be cut some other way. The cutter seems to be very well made, the earth clamp is exceptional, good supply of spare tips would have preferred the larger DINSE plugs for the earth lead but realise that it would have a cost penalty. One small criticism, the tails of the power lead were cut way too long which meant I had to cut off the soldered ends in order to fit a 16Amp 'blue' plug which is a shame because they were very good to make a solid connection into my mains plug. I am a home/hobbyist user. This product is ideal for all my intended metal cutting processes, although this product would also suit light commercial use, the quality of this product is very good.

Not had a chance to do much with it, but did do a little bit of 'testing' as soon as I unpacked it. Seems to work really nicely on the few bits of scrap metal I tried it on (0.8mm Mild Steel, 1.5mm Stainless, 4mm Mild Steel). Quality is great, as expected with R-Tech Kit.

Great piece of kit cuts nicely up to 8mm as claimed in fact I have obtained fairly clean cuts at 10mm in all very pleased with the cutting kit.

I have not used the product in anger yet but first impressions are good. It seems a very solid well built piece of equipment. I like the way the air regulator is integral to the unit, less prone to damage. Also good length of cables etc which is often an issue with these products.

Allways great products from rtech I have tried cheaper but they dont compare. Same old addage" buy cheap , buy twice"

Item arrived and after a bit of searching and getting assistance from the tech team managed to get a fitting for my compressor. It comes with a PCL but mine are quick release euro.

I have recently retired and I am equipping myself with a few things so that I can do a few fabrication projects in my garage/workshop the plasma will be my main method of cutting sheet steel and plate it seems to work very well for that and looks well made I haven?t had a real chance to put it through it?s paces yet but I am confident it will do all that I ask of it and would recommend it to anyone looking to do the same sort of work with it I think it would be extremely useful to anyone doing car body work and or any light fabrication projects

Only used the unit 3 times but so far I'm not impressed. Had a small Blueweld Plasma 31 inverter previously which was smaller in size but seemed to produce a cleaned cut. It's stated the R-Tech unit is capable of clean cutting 8mm M/S but I highly doubt that as it seems to struggle on 3mm. Unit is also missing HF start compared my old unit.

I?m a hobby engineer, and use the plasma as and when it is needed. I also have a R Tech Mig and Tig. I work on small projects for people, and the plasma gives me another string to my bow. It is ideal for a small or light fabrication workshop. The quality of all R Tech equipment is second to non.

I use my plasma cutter for hobby fabricating. I would recommend the tool to absolutely anyone who needs a professional tool that is more than capable. Quality is fantastic! Solid and easy to use.

Great piece of kit, came in really handy trimming car body *** at full length. Didn?t always give a clean cut on 5mm thick steel, had to do a few passes and clean up with angle grinder.

First time trying product, it seems ideal for our needs.

Good quality general purpose plasma cutter that gets varied use in my restoration shop from general fabrication work to car body / light sheet metal work. Easily clean cuts 6mm angle iron and the like and give a superfast perfectly finished edge on light gauge materials.

We have just started to use this product, (to the maximum) and so far it's performing very well. Looks as though it will save a lot of time and seems to be a good quality item. Very pleased with our first venture into plasma cutting!

Exactly what I needed at the right price too

Only tried for a short time but setup and use is easy. Cuts through rusted metal very well as I have two shock absorber bolts in a awkward position to remove. Will be using on small agricultural repairs and fabrication. We only have single phase, and wanted a machine that could run off 13 amp supply which this does well. Quality seems good and simple to use.

Fantastic bit of kit get a clean cut on 12 mm steel

Well constructed and easy to follow upset details. Quiet in operation. Recommend to friends. One of note is with the air connection from compressor. A choice of which connection to suit your individual use would be good. Easy enough to change, although the connection on the machine was quite difficult to remove due its tightness. I have changed the connection and disregarded the original seems a waste.

Use of the plasma cutter is to cut sheet metal and notching out 6mm x 50 x 50mm angle iron. I would recommend this item to anyone who has been using cutting discs to refrain from getting showered in hot sparks. Having previously worked in a welding supply role and problem solver in the welding section the equipment R-Tech supply is of high quality with great components on the inside to keep you working at a high level.

I use this plasma cutter for hobby work but I am a fabricator / welder to trade. I would recommend this plasma cutter to amateurs and professionals if they are doing mainly small gauge material. I am impressed with the quality so far.

I bought the small 30amp plasma cutter for home workshop use. Product seems good quality, but only a weeks use so far. The 30amp is aimed at the home user with a 13 amp supply . The next one up needs 16 amp supply.

Would recommend *** to a tig welding friend without hesitation.

Metal work artist, using this for the creation of shapes for use in my work and for cutting images and shapes in to metal sheet, box and tube to create bespoke firepits, lighting features etc. I would suggest this product for anyone looking to cut smaller quantities, more bespoke items where setting up laser cutting may be too time consuming or expensive. I haven't had much opportunity to get to grips with using on different materials and grades yet but what I have done I have found to be exceptional bit of kit, takes a little practice but easy to learn.

Cutting mild steel worked brilliantly and the quality of the product is excellent (now saving up for a TIG welder) but I had to cut some 4mm ally I found it very hard work several passes it may have been quicker to use a jigsaw, ...I must be doing something wrong?

Very good piece of kit

This particular plasma cutter is well made, compact and very simple to use. If I had any complaint, it's a little bit underpowered than quoted: it states a 12mm severance cut but it is seriously struggling to get through 10mm mild steel. However, on anything thinner, it works effectively.

Been looking into plasma cutters for a few days and the r-tech p30c ticked all the boxes and more, the warranty for one and the company being uk based and on the end of the phone for any problems and spare parts. I?m restoring 2x old dumpers and a pick up truck so this will be used to cut all old panels out and making new ones so on average 6mm sheet steel and knowing it will cut up 12mm is ideal for what I need it for. I would definitely recommend this plasma cutter great compact unit and light to carry around

DIY metal fabricator for random jobs. Usually 3-7mm metal. Rather than using grinder or Stihl saw where noise is an issue. I would have loved the 50h but needed 13a electric was tempted to chance it but advised against by *** the 30c . So far easily up to the job.

Having used the P30C this week, my first experience of a plasma cutter, I do not know how I have lived without one in the past! I have a home workshop where I fabricate parts for race cars for myself & friends. This is perfect for home use.

I bought the R-Tech P30C Plasma Cutter to trim some very large steel beams (self build project). I'm pushing the limits of the machine with some of this cutting (10mm plate, but with patience it gives quite a nice cut - and bear in mind I've never used a plasma cutter before). I would have bought the next model up, but I wanted to be able to cart this up on to a roof and plug it into a 13A socket, and I can! The machine seems to be very well put together, and it coming with a free 3-year warranty gives me great confidence. There are cheaper machines out there for sure, but I wouldn't be too sure about getting consumables for them in the future. This came with a decent pile of spare bits, and I imagine the company will be around to sell me some more when the time comes. As a novice, I'm finding my plasma cutter pretty straightforward to use, and the R-Tech YouTube videos were pretty helpful for getting me started All in all, happy!

Used mainly for artistic freehand work on copper, mild, stainless and Corten steel and aluminium up to 6mm. I would confidently recommend this unit to anyone doing the same; it?s lightweight, reliable, a real workhorse and considering I use it constantly I have had virtually no problems. I just have a tea-break when it starts to overheat! I don?t think you could find a better ?starter? plasma for the money. Been using one for eight years and it?s still all I need. Only buying a new one as I?m switching workshops.

Ideal Plasma cutter for a hobbyist, small, light weight and effective machine with the ease of plugging into any 13 amp socket in the garage or shed.

Machine will be used for repairing grass cutting and Farm machinery.

Lightweight but went through 8mm plate no problem. As with all equipment a bit of time and practice, but great machine. Lots of consumables sent out free with the kit

The plasma cutter is small and compact easy to operate comes with full instructions and superb warranty. It comes with all necessary parts and I added a circle cutter and tinted goggles to assist in ease-of-use. Cannot praise this product enough from box to use in less than 15 minutes, The majority of that was fitting the plug. Clean cot of 10 mm stainless steel that needed did little little finishing.

Only a hobbyist so still learning, but loving my P30C plasma cutter. Only downside is the airline connection seems slightly long to connect firmly with my compressor.

Seems a good quality piece of kit, but in all honesty I have only given it some very light use on a couple of pieces of very thin scrap just to see it run. It certainly whistles through 0.8 mm sheet!! The real test will be in a few weeks when it will be cutting a mountain of 3-6mm plates..... This may sound like a daft point, but I'm really happy with the length of the mains lead and the torch lead. Cheaper equipment always seems to skimp on these very important factors and it makes it a real pain if you're working on a larger job and have to continually re-rig a machine.

A very solid piece of kit. Using it for cutting 4mm stainless and aluminium. Ideal for neat cuts in gauges up to 8mm steel, and slightly thinner aluminium due to heat conductivity. For a rough cut it will go to higher gauges OK. Works well with my smallish compressor.

The last time, (20 odd years ago) I used plasma the machine was the size of a freezer. This little inverter does just as good a job. Very impressed for the money.

Iv already used the unit on two vehicle repairs. A strut tower on rav4 and a rear valance on a anglia 105e. I would recommend to anyone in the motor trade or for small jobs. Great quality item, seems solid but also compact and lightweight.

I used the P30C for removing an old steel door frame at my property. Angle grinders were nowhere near as effective at the removal. It took some time playing with the settings, and my technique, to really begin to use the tool effectively, and I suspect that I can improve further, but the tool is everything that was described, and bears no responsibility for my poor cutting techniques. I think that the product is well made, and works as advertised. The fact that it runs off a (available separately) 13 amp plug, sets it apart from most competitor products which require 20 or more amp supplies. The 1st kit was damaged in transit, and not working on delivery, but this was speedily remedied by the team at R-Tech and I received a brand new P30C within 36 hours, which has been faultless.

I use the cutter to open up small steel containers to extract the non ferrous contents ,this is far more economic to any other method I have tried and as a scrap-merchant it fulfils this task admirably . I would recommend it to any one needing to save on consumables ie oxy propane, cutting discs or manual sawing . Having previously purchased the larger 50amp model from your selves(which I sold under pressure!) deciding to buy the smaller version has been the correct decision to make, I didn?t need the extra cutting capacity and this model 30 is more than fulfilling all expectations , First class product, first class service. The quality of this product is very good. Exceptionally well made. Works better than I thought it would. Cuts to a very high standard and cuts thicker metal than advertised. I would recommend this plasma cutter to anyone who is requiring a plasma cutter that uses the standard 13 amp 3 pin plug. Duty cycle is better than advertised. I used it most of the afternoon and it never faulted or went into overheat at any point. All in all a very well made, sturdy product that is covered by a 3 year no quibble collection and return warranty. You can?t ask for more than that.

Hobby work. Not had enough experience to recommend. Build quality appears good. Missing plug was annoying (not mentioned on eBay). It should be in the interest of the supplier to ensure that the end user gets the correct good solid plug. For those people who are uncomfortable fitting their own 13 amp plug with the correct fuse a well qualified but unscrupulous electrician could fit any plug and fuse and charge the end user what they like.

Although it lacks the ultimate quality and features of a Hypertherm, it's also a fraction of the price and performs extremely well. Little bit slower to cut than some others but I've used it on 0.7 up to 6mm steel and am very happy with the results

This plasma cutter is for heavy home use and is an excellent product for home and industrial use, it compares well with other industrial units and at a much cheaper price. I use the set for cutting leaf blanks for hot forging into shape. It was very simple to set up and I would recommend it for anyone involved with light to medium sheet metalwork. Ideal for car repairs.

I do a lot of welding and fabrication of 4wd vehicles and the p30c is excellent. I decided on this model because it runs of a 13amp plug and is a decent price. customer service was excellent and once I got it home I cut a chassis up the next day for some templates. Rest assured this will cut through rusty and painted metal with no problem. I will post a youtube video review soon

I purchased the 30amp Plasma from R-tech to take me to the next level with my welding and fabrication. A plasma cutter in general opens up many more doors and is a valuable asset to me. I decided to go for the 30amp over the 50amp based on finances and power supply at the time of purchase. I often wonder whether i should have gone for the 50amp, considering i know do have the power supply to power it. However i have been very pleased with the performance that this 30amp has delivered. When I have struggled with a cut, looking back, it was most likely to have been operator error more than the machines capability. The machine is very compact and was a lot smaller than i expected. It has a premium and solid feel and is very easy to set up and use. They havnt skimped out on accessories either and this is not only a plus to me, but also a sign of quality. The ground clamp is a decent size, with the copper strip connecting both sides of the clamp and is of sturdy construction I was most impressed by the sheath that groups and protects all the cables leading from the machine to the cutting torch. I have seen these as optional extras on other machines, but i was glad to see it as standard when i opened the box. The torch cable at 4.5m is a decent length so you havnt got to keep moving the unit around work pieces but i do envy how the 50amp comes with a 6m torch The built in regulator is very easy and simple to use for getting the correct pressures and the supplied pcl air fitting on the back made for one less purchase.. The cutting torch itself is probably the let down for me. There is nothing wrong with it, but it does feel cheap and flimsy in comparison to the rest of the machine and the actual physical size of it, for me, i would have preferred something a bit bigger to grab. I know the 50amp unit comes with a different torch so perhaps thats the answer for me. However it hasn't been a problem to use and i do like how the torch can rotate 360 from the cables. Finally to compliment the machine, a consumables kit to get you off the ground and running for some time is the cherry on top for package deals.

I'm new to plasma cutting. Only had a couple of goes so far, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. Just need to get familiar with amount of air and juice required for different thicknesses. Quality of the equipment seems really good.

This is an excellent plasma cutter. I've never owned one before and this has been bought to try and ease the demand on 9" cutting discs. It glides through 10mm steel like butter and I'm able to make a really neat job of any fabrication. I considered both this cutter and slightly cheaper ones from elsewhere on the internet, but went for the R-tech on their reputation for quality. I'm glad I spent the little bit of extra money (buy quality, buy once). This cutter has proved to be possibly my best ever investment, it is fantastic value for money and the customer service has been second to none. This is used in an agricultural environment where tools don't always get the best treatment, but I fully expect the P30C to stand up to any punishment I can give it. When it's time to upgrade the workshop welder in the coming months, R-tech will be my first (and likely only) call.

Fantastic customer service. The plasma cutter arrived well packaged, with good clear user instructions. The unit is very easy to use and makes awkward cutting in difficult positions possible (underneath chassis). Places where I cannot get my grinder in are no longer safe. The only improvement I feel could be the torch. The trigger is not shrouded and takes very little effort to operate. Unfortunately it often catches on things when moving it across the shop and proceeds to spew compressed air everywhere. Alex (Norfolk)

this is my second purchase from R TECH, in 2006 i purchased a tig welder, superb piece of kit, still going strong, never had any issues. I ordered the r-tech TIG161 ac/dc welder and the p30c plasma cutter on Monday morning at around 10am and by Tuesday late afternoon I had both machines delivered all the way up to sunny Aberdeen!!!!!!!!! I have a stick welder that looks like it could've been used in the construction of Noah's ark and a Clarke MIG 151 which I've used a fair bit so I'd consider myself still very much an amateur but with a little welding knowledge. I've never TIG welded but after seeing a few videos on YouTube and reading through lots of forums I was sold! I didn't have too big a budget but wanted to get a decent enough machine that I could use from time to time for years to come on various thicknesses of various metals. With the guarantee supplied and the reviews these guys had it really was a no-brainer to go for these machines. Played with the plasma a fair bit over the past week and its a wee weapon!!! If you're a bloke with a shed and a few scraps of metal just buy one! trust me, you need this in your life! Does what I need it to do with plenty of consumables in the box for the head to last aaaaaaages!! Took me a while to get to grips with the TIG but after almost a week of practice in the evenings I'm almost ready to get the materials for making the aluminium roof rack on the van and some stainless balustrade for a staircase. I've had my P30C 2.5 years now and its not missed a beat. Its been used on mild steel and stainless from 1mm thick upto 10mm and aluminium from 1.5 to 6mm. I cant begin to imagine the total length of cuts it made or the hours its saved with a hacksaw and or grinder. I would recommend it to anybody.

After alot of research on plasma cutters I stumbled upon this company via eBay. I was originally looking at getting the next model up, but realistically when am I ever going to need to cut more than 10 mm steel whilst restoring/building cars. I took a gamble on this and to be fair wasn't expecting super clean cuts especially in thicker steel plate. Well, I'm very impressed to say the least. It's small and compact, a doddle to set up and it has cut everything I've thrown at it with ease. I do alot of welding on cars for mot's and the beauty of this is that it runs off a 13 amp plug so it means I can take it away from the workshop and use it to cut away rust in relative silence (compared to an angle grinder!)out and about, meaning less noise disruption for neighbours etc. The only downside I have found is that when cutting aluminium sheet(16 gauge), it sometimes would loose the arc and not cut cleanly. This is probably down to my poor technique than a fault with the machine.

I bought mine direct via *** at a reduced price for being "shop-soiled",i couldnt find a mark on it!! Perfect.. What an absolute brilliant piece of kit. I've never used a plasma before, but the instructions were clear and concise, and enabled me to get great results after just a few minutes.. to quote a saying "it does what it says, on the tin", and it does.. A great advantage is this machine WILL run off a standard 3 pin 13A supply.. It is so easy to use, i just cant find fault, and i'm very critical.. For me it's proved itself as being the missing link in my workshop armoury.. The consumables just seem to last on and on and on,so the supplied spares will last absolutely ages.. I've cut 40ft of 2mm plate, and the electrode/tip hardly shows any signs of wear at all.. The HF start facility is just great and works every time without fail.. Even the carry strap, the quality shows, it is comfortable on the shoulder whilst moving it about, as well.. The ordering/delivery was faultless..

Previously purchased a cheap Chinese plasma cutter of *** it didn't work. I eventually got my money back. Then did another search and found R-Tech Welding direct I was nervous about buying another plasma cutter so did some research R-Tech have some good reviews. So I purchased the plasma 30c shop soiled through pay4later 0% finance for 6 months. The cutter has just the tiniest mark on the black plastic that is it. l am very pleased with my cutter it works perfect and I have piece of mind with the two year warranty. I paid £170 more for this one but compared to the cheaper Chinese one it is money well spent build quality is very good and most importantly it works. I would recommend R-Tech to anyone good prices and service THANK YOU.

Recently I purchased an IMIG160 MIG welder and a P30C Plasma Cutter. I have used it now on every type of job application; a good quality machine for a very reasonable price; very pleased with the setup. The P30C is also an excellent machine - smooth in its operation; a fantastic bit of kit and again simple to set up. It has given excellent result. First of all, many thanks to all at R-Tech welding. I have received great service so far and will be dealing with you guys again shortly. I purchased a P30C plasma cutter mostly for light duty/DIY type applications. My average work will involve metal up to around 3-4mm thick with some occasional 6mm so this machine is perfect for me. I am very impressed with the machine overall and its ability to cut very well and very quick! I should have bought this product a long time ago. No more cutting sheet steel with an angle grinder! The machine looks very smart/professional and the quality of the parts and torch seem very good. Plenty of extra consumables with the machine which is great, no doubt last me a long time too!

I got a little plasma cutter worked well then had trouble cutting, the air pressure was set wrong by me! The help from R-Tech was fantastic, real customer service, I visited the shop and I didn't even have to carry the machine in, they came out carried in the machine sorted the settings for me and gave me advice, all involved they were really helpful and had a great sense of humour long may R-Tech carry on.

I bought my IMIG 160 and a P30C together over a year ago from R TECH, both units have performed admirably well after being used for a number of jobs both in the workshop and on site. I have to admit I was sceptical of their ability when seeing the compact size and low weight of the units, but both units performed brilliantly - easy to control with stepless control knobs and easy to read display (I can adjust things without taking my gloves off). The welds are smooth and even and striking an arc is easy in both MIG and MMA modes. The after sales support is faultless. On the one occasion I thought I had a fault the folks on the phone knew the machine inside and out and lead me through a series of checks; and from what was found, the machine was collected the next day repaired and returned to me in two days (only 4 days in total).. It turned out the fault was me but I was not charged... In summary I will continue to recommend R TECH to anyone who wants great machines with a proper UK based warranty and after sales

After the failure of my expensive Plasma Cutter I purchased your R-Tech Plasma 30C. I am over the moon with the performance of this mighty mouse Cutter that punches way above it's weight. I am well impressed with the 30 Amp Plasma Cutter I picked up from you guys. We use it on our lightship project and it runs from our Lister generator with no problems.
