Mig Welding Spool on Gun for MIG180, PROMIG250 & MTS255S

Absolutely fantastic quality with for once a proper length earth lead on it, using the mig 181 for car body repairs mainly, but have tried on thicker stuff and is capable

I bought this as an attachment for my MIG180 to allow me to expand into aluminium welding. I have yet to use it but it seems well made and I have watched it in use on the promotional videos, so I would expect to be able to recommend it to my friends and acquaintances.

Fantastic Welder

Bit the bullet and bought this along with my new mig from R-Tech. Have in no way tried it but I think it is a very nice bit of kit that is really well made. I dont do much welding on Alluminium but its nice to have there for the odd times the need arises.

Used for fabrication & repairs in my home workshop, easy to use for any home welder. Excellent quality & well-made product

I have never used a spool ** before and had a alloy section to weld so easy to use with no practice as it was a rush job really impressed and the help I received in getting the wire I would need to start with from your team very pleased.

Have tried to weld alloys in the past with limited success, the spool ** is another level and has removed the stoppages that plagued me in the past. I am a DIY user and the ease of using the gun is improving my results, Although listed as an entry level item the build quality is superb and comfortable to handle in use.

This machine should do everything I want for my hobby engineering. I was looking for a better quality MIG welder, to replace my aging one, with the ability to weld aluminium and this fits the bill.

To be used to make framing . Only tried out today, first impression easy to use so I would think it?s suitable for anyone keen to weld. Appears good quality.

As ever great quality built in the UK equipment does what it says on the can.

Occasional use,small jobs,recommend to anyone who doesn't want to move on to tig (space and expense of another machine)quality kit as you'd expect from R-TECH ideal for small jobs but I'm sure would work all day if needed

Works well but no instructions at all or guidance in the welder manual( this says to use a Teflon liner and roller ). Feels a bit cheaply made and might not last long

I use this for light to medium aluminium welding, I would recommend this to those wishing to weld aluminium without having to buy a different machine. The spool ** has very long control leads, a big asset, it is well made and runs smoothly.

Ease of swopping from ordinary MIG torch to spool ** is very easy , great add -on to the machine and well worth the very reasonable extra cost.

Haven?t had a chance to use it yet but the quality seems good

Ace for birmabright landrover panels. But also good on 0.6m stainless wire. Buy both ally wire grades for options, 0.8mm. Well worth buying with a mig set or just anyway :o) The wire drive looks decent quality.

not so good on alloy. the use is easy but not 100%effective on 6mm *** series alloys

I haven?t used it yet so can only rate it on the information from what other people say. The info I got from YouTube Doubleboost channel made me decide to buy your kit. I am a total novice and have never welded anything this is going to be my retirement hobby.

A good addition to the 250 amp mig welder. Makes an already good welder even more versatile.

I use this product for repairs, but it is intended for my own fabrication work. I would reccommend this product to people who occasionally need to weld aluminium and need a tool that can be quickly set up. Especially for those that want to utilise exisiting welders. In typical R-Tech fassion. This is a decent quality product as one might expect. I had a bit of trouble getting used to the wire feed to begin with. I had a little trouble with the spool sticking a bit. Which was causing inconsistencies in the wire speed. A quick call to Customer Support, helped to make sense of things. But it probably took a couple of hours to settle everything down. The situation eased as the spool discharged , which resulted in less friction and a more stable wire speed. I have held off giving a review, until I have been able to make effective welds that hold together. This I have now achieved. I have managed a weld that looks similar to how a weld should look, as opposed to pile of pigeon droppings ! I am pleased to say that I have had the confidence to do a couple of hours worth of welding on a customer's work and been satisfied with the results. Now everything is running smoothly, the results are starting to appear. I have great *** in R-Tech products and I believe that this aluminium welding torch will be no exception. It is indeed starting to produce some worthwhile results after only a couple of hours' practice.

MIG welding aluminium for the first time by this process and the *** is good quality. Would recommend to those that do a lot of aluminium welding but not thin stuff.

I use this mainly for aluminium welding as it saves having to swop reels and liners on the machine. I would recommend to anyone doing aluminium welding, makes life a lot easier and less wastage. The product is of good quality with a good robust feel about it.

Superb - never thought I would be able to weld aluminium. I bought the MIG from you because of the utube demonstration videos. It would have taken me a lot longer to get going if I had had to rely on the paper guidance.

This is the first time I have used a spool gun but with advice from Daz and mike I had some very successful welds on 10mm aluminium plate.

Bought as a add on to my mig pro 250. Done almost a KG of aluminium wire now and its a dream to use.

I use R-tech equipment for small scale project and prototype work,this equipment is perfect for advanced welders and beginners alike,being an inverter mig it is smooth in operation and very forgiving and easy to use and adjust the case of the machine is robust but not overly heavy I have been using my mig and plasma cutter for5+ years now without any faults but I can phone R-tech tech anytime for advice parts or repair

Looking forward to getting proficient at using the spool gun. First impressions are very good.
