11 March 2024This is the first papr helmet I?ve bought. It didn?t take long to get used to the hose. The screen is clear and it feels good once it?s on the head. It has a grinding feature too though I?m unlikely to use it - though I?d buy a papr helmet if there was one just for grinding that could be used on the blower so it was a bit less heavy. Really good product

19 February 2024Nice bit of kit with a few niggly things The controls for the shield are hard to access but ok when set The whole thing seems a little flimsy The storage bag supplied is totally inadequate, it?s to small and offers very little protection, this should be addressed as this helmet is a relatively expensive piece of kit !

31 December 2023This has to be the best helmet I have ever used. Brilliant clarity while welding, and the flip up visor for grinding was the main selling point for me. This feature is awsom as it keeps you safe from inhalation of the grinding dust while not having to wear a mask under a visor.

19 November 2023Very impressed with the quality of the full package which I will use in a hobby capacity.. Initial tests look good, particularly the large viewing area and functionality which has improved my welding considerably. Perhaps my only very small issue is with the physical adjustment on the mask. Can't seem to get it just right so it feels secure and does not brush the bridge of my nose - could be due to fact only have a small head (7.25)!. I would recommend this system to anyone, even hobbyists - the safety of ones health is too important to take for granted.

09 November 2023Not used yet, but only issue I can foresee is the fiddly process of changing settings which are on the welding screen and stuck up inside the helmet. Impossible to do without removing helmet and gloves and then having to take the LCD unit out of the helmet which involves removing the grinding screen - it may be that it can be done with the LCD in place but visibility is poor. External controls would be an improvement.

14 September 2023Amazing product but I have one comment ...the adjustment of the lens settings is very awkward to do (in between the helmet and the rotating facia so it is hard to reach) and it is too close to your eyes to read it so you have to remove the helmet to change settings everytime you want to do so and that is annoying.

13 September 2023Ok so, I needed to get a mask for work, a large workshop, doing general fabrication and welding, and had a budget, as this was at the better value end of the market, and from a well regarded brand, I though it would be a safe bet. However there are a few flaws with this mask, which on their own range from trivial to quite annoying. The biggest issue I have had with this mask, is at least one or two times a day, the auto darkening screen will be a second too late, leaving me flashed for a minute or so until my eyes re adjust, I have fiddled with settings, delay, sensitivity etc, but for some reason, every now and then it will just take too long to react, which is less than ideal. Secondly, the knobs on the side to adjust tension on the rotation parts are plastic and bit naff, the first day of using it one popped off and sent the bits flying, so after scrabbling around picking them up from the shop floor, I put them back together and checked they were both correct and tight. This has happened 2 more times since then, which is frustrating mid weld, you hear a creak, then a pop, then your mask is halfway down your face. Meaning you have to stop welding and find all your bits, be it on the floor, somewhere pinged off down the area you are working etc. The more minor bits are as follows, the quick release buckle will catch on the back of grinders, bench corners, workpieces, and undo your air supply, leaving it to drop to the ground and yank your head back. The belt buckle loops on the back of the air supply are not a great fit and will again come loose from the filter housing, or off of the belt, doing the same as the previous point. The adjustment of the settings has no backlight, so you have to take the mask off to change them. The bottom face shield is held on by velcro which is susceptible to dust, and looses it's stick which isn't great considering it's designed to be used while grinding. It also means any smoke or fumes can make their way into the bottom of the mask A clip on style bottom shield would be more suitable. The top face shield is only about an inch long, so sparks will still come up and over the mask, also, while the welding mask is flipped up, so you can grind, the rear visor on the weld mask gets absolutely covered in sparks and dust, so you will have to clean it every time you've been grinding, which is awkward as the gap.between the two is tricky to get in to. The front protective plastic visor on the welding mask is a poor fit, so dust and contamination gets inside, making the fragile and expensive auto darkening lense dirty, and not really well protected at all. A lot of these mean you are taking your mask of to sort out issues that happen often enough that it's a few times a day, which is inconvenient as it is designed to filter air in an environment that is potentially harmful. It isn't doing much good if you have to take it off or it falls off every hour or so and you have to spend time fixing it. The quality is ok, but can see it is cheap plastic mouldings, but suppose to be expected for the price point. The force of the air supplied is very good, filter lasts about about a week and a half in a big workshop though, so will be quite a cost in the long run. The battery life is good, and if left on charge at tea breaks will last a 10 hour day. This is a hobby grade product, but with a price point reflected in the lower end professional equipment, a lot of potential but shows a real lack of thought or perhaps priority towards budget from the manufacturer.

03 September 2023What a piece of kit! Blown away with how lightweight the unit is for a start, also the viewing on this is mega crystal clear. Fantastic airflow settings, the list goes on... I have Been using this on a range of work now: Seated TIG work, heavy fabrication MIG, on site MMA welding. Smooth sailing through it all! That good I would recommended it to any other welders out there! so on that I'm now interested to see what the welding sets are like!

17 July 2023I am a fabricator welder and the flip up welding screen is ideal for me as I don't need to keep swapping headgear, a plus for time saving and safety, I have used the system for 3 days and find the unit comfortable to wear and not unbalanced or heavy when the welding screen is in the upright position. My only issue with the whole system is to do with the 'snap in' clips that hold the air feeding unit to the belt.. When walking around the workshop it is easy to knock the unit on bench corners or other protrusions and dislodge the clips and almost 'lose' the unit .( I wear it at my side as I am unable to reach round to my back to connect the hose and switch on/off) I feel fixed clips or even 'BELT LOOPS' on the rear of the unit would be a better design. This is the only reason for a 4star rating. Basically an excellent purchase. T'Welder

07 June 2023I?ve been using the Spiritus Air-Pro for mig welding and and grinding. The quality is very good but I find I can only work for short periods of time as my neck gets tired. The mask has a grinding visor so there?s a lot of extra weight to carry on the neck. It?s especially noticeable when grinding as the mask flipped up means the weight is further from the head. I would definitely recommend the product but you have to be aware you might have to take more breaks

30 May 2023I purchased this welding helmet for hobby welding at home. It provides a cool clean constant air flow and I have to say that after only 30 minutes of use, in an open door double garage, that you would normally have thought would prove adequate ventilation, I could certainly tell the different with the new air fed helmet, no fumes inhaled, no pollutants and no ** by-products, just cool clean air. The helmet is fully adjustable to provide a very comfortable fit and visibility is excellent, even at shade 12 (tig welding) Highly recommend this product

So far I am not disappointed, the field of vision is fantastic compared to the cheaper masks I?ve used , it fits comfortably, the battery life on the air feed seems good so far. With the added bonus of being able to spread the purchase cost out with finance . So far I?m a happy customer.

25 March 2023Haven?t used the helmet yet. I?m just about to start a vehicle restoration after several years of inactivity. I?ll be using the mask purely as an armature! I had been considering a second hand 3M mask but yours caught my eye. I have a very large head, so was impressed and surprised that your mask gave a good fit without being claustrophobic. Also impressed with the build quality and finish. There has clearly been a lot of thought put in to the design and manufacturing. it is obvious that this has been designed and made by an engineer who understands their product and takes a pride in what they do. I know that there are cheaper units available. However, the alternative was a second hand 3M unit which was at a similar price point as your brand new mask. So overall, not too bad I am looking forward to getting to use the mask in anger! The only thing I would suggest could be improved upon would be the storage bag. The ?duffel style ?bag supplied does seem like a bit of an afterthought. Especially compared to the care and thought that has clearly gone in to the mask and flow unit. A better bag - even perhaps as an optional extra. Would be a benefit. Especially to someone who will be more of an occasional user where being able to safely keep everything together on a shelf or in a cupboard is important.

24 March 2023Only just tried out the product yesterday, very pleased with it so far, found the air pump belt adjustment fiddly, but once it?s set it will be ok. My main reason for purchasing the item was the normal helmets misting up in cold weather. I put the helmet on and it misted up, as soon as I put the air on, the screen went clear and remained clear. Very pleased with the welding mask. It will take a bit of getting used to, but it appears to be doing all I wanted it to do. The filter is Cristal clear. Fab. The air pump is not very noisy on the low setting, in fact the welding machine fan drowns the helmet fan out.

07 January 2023I have been wearing the mask every working day since purchase and although it took a little time to get used to (I had only worn standard masks till then) I now find it comfortable and would not go back . A lot of my time is spent on repairs so I am welding painted and contaminated material that gives off fumes, but with this mask l neither smell nor inhale them and you don?t realise how much the mask stops this till you take it off, even with ventilation. A very good and well priced product with excellent backup service.

What are the benefits of True Colour ADF technology?

How long does an air-fed welding mask battery last?
The standard battery 5200mAH supplied with the R-Tech Spiritus Air-Pro will give 8+hrs on a full charge.
Charging time is about 2-3 hours.
One benefit of this mask is it allows on 'On machine charging' - So if you do forget to charge battery, you can plug charger unit it and carry on using mask.
We do have a higher capacity battery 6200mAH battery that will give 10+hrs run time. Part Number: RT-PAPR-55
We also keep our replacement battery costs at a sensible price, so you can purchase a spare battery if you weld for long hours and have 1 on charge. -
Why do I need an Air-Fed welding mask? Is it due to HSE law?
The HSE (Health & safety executive) advised that welding fumes can be cancerous.

How often should I replace my air-fed welding mask filter?
The main air filter should be replaced after 180 hours of use for optimum protection.
If you are working in a very dusty enviroment, you may need to replace filter sooner.
The air blower assy automatically senses air flow pressure due to condition of filter and adjusts accordingly.
If the alarm buzzers sounds due to poor air flow, check filters and replace. -
